Joe MacGown will be participating in a two-man exhibition with Cetin Oguz at the Meridian Museum of Art in Meridian, Mississippi (USA). Exhibition dates are January 3-31, 2008, with an opening reception on January 3rd from 6-8 PM. MacGown lives in Starkville, Mississippi where he works as a scientific illustrator and research technician at the Mississippi Entomological Museum at Mississippi State University. MacGown's works are highly detailed, surrealistic pen and ink drawings, which the artist describes as "subconscious meanderings." Cetin Oguz, originally from Turkey, is an art professor at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi. His large-scale paintings correlate religious and cultural discourse through the use of color, texture, and unique angles.
