Arif Bahtiar

I was born and grew up on the south beach of West Java, Indonesia. I studied Sundanese literature while finding myself more and more in love with paintings. Surreal paintings give me more space to express my thoughts and feelings. My paintings express rebellion, freedom and transcendental views into the only one absolute reality... God. We all know there no one will be satisfied living in a materialistic world, every person will eventually seek for more until one day they will all turn to one thing... a higher point of all. Something bigger and grander, beyond this dimension. I feel the urge to help strengthen these facts by expressing it through paintings. For me, my painting is a spiritual journey. Very intimate and sacred. I dedicate it not only as entertainment for the eye but food for the soul.
