I was born in Holland in 1969 and have been living in Amsterdam since 1990. After having studied Photography at the art academy in The Hague I started travelling with the intention of putting my aquired skills to good use. Instead I discovered painting as a means to create images that could not possibly be made by photography. Once I started I found I couldn't stop. I just had to put down these images I saw. It started with acrylics on canvas and a lot of energy and patience. At one point I turned to Photoshop and got excited by the possibilities it offers, then lost myself completely in 3-d animation which gave me lots of headaches. From there back to digital painting felt like a relief. But not untill I came back full circle to "real"painting with paint did I feel like coming home. Nowadays I do both, enjoy both too but there's simply no digital equivalent to actually getting your fingers dirty with paint. I work with acrylics, gouache and watercolor. I've had severall successful exhibitions in galeries in Amsterdam and was voted master of science fiction in Exposé 7.
