My goal is to recognize the complexities that reside in all of us, our lives, and our relationships.

My models are intended to captivate viewers by reverberating between the familiar and the odd, and between the beautiful and the perverse.

I create luscious realistic oil paintings from direct observation of three-dimensional models and sets that I construct myself.

The paintings are meticulously created with traditional oil painting techniques of an underpainting and several layers of overpainting. The finely rendered paintings are the results of intensely capturing the models’ presence and lighting with paint.

I work in series with the models, and progressively degrade a model for each new painting. There is a strong element of improvisation when the models are created and altered for each subsequent painting.
