The need to produce artwork hit me early in life. I remember being asked that infamous question - “What do you want to do when you grow up?” - when I was about seven, and my answer then is still my answer today: I want to be an artist. Luckily, my parents were, and remain, very supportive, and they ran out and got me my first watercolour set to start my quest.
Today, I primarily paint with oils on either board or canvas. Much of my inspiration comes from discarded antique photos of children that I unearth. I like the idea of giving the child a new world to live in out of the dusty box in which I first found it. I am also often inspired to paint my love and partner of over eight years, Aprella.
I couldn’t tell you exactly why I chose to create paintings other than I know that I need to create paintings in order to feel complete.
