Donald Pass, a featured artist of the beinArt Collective, died on December 3rd, 2010, aged 80.
Donald Pass was a British painter, known for work based on a vision he experienced, which has been interpreted as the Resurrection of the Dead. His work is found in museums and private collections in Europe, the United States, and Australia.
“From childhood onwards I have seen Angels, and had fundamental belief in God. When living in Chelsea, London, I saw a beautiful golden face which came into the room filling everywhere with a golden light. Later in Cuckfield churchyard in Sussex, I had a vision of the Resurrection. Figures rising up from the dead, and Angels gathering souls. A very large descending angel and a beautiful face. Most of my work has been devoted to this vision.
“I have also always been a British landscape painter and this is still an integral part of my work. Angels still visit me. I try to use rhythm, line, and colour to express the visual and aural experience of the Resurrection. The composer Marcus Davidson came very near to experiencing the sounds which accompanied the vision in his work Awakenings.” – Donald Pass (September 9, 1930 – December 3, 2010)
