"Through my paintings, I present my personal vision of the fundamental myths of our civilisation. My paintbrush covers mythology, philosophies, Christian iconography, and the dramas and pleasures of our spirit and our flesh. My technique, inspired by Flemish artists belonging to Van Eyck’s circle, is founded on the mixing of two processes: oil and tempera. The performance’s preciseness, the importance given to all colours’ tones and luminosity, are apparent in my pictures. I spent my childhood in Warsaw, Poland, in a family environment inspired by art and painting. My parents, Konstanty and Wladyslawa Tiunine, well-known fresco restorers, practised their art between 1950 and 1990 in more than fifty churches and historical places in Poland. I gained my first experience at their side".
Eli Tiunine is one of 50 Artists featured in our first publication entitled Metamorphosis.
