I started drawing at a very early age, my father was a commercial artist and I learned by osmosis (the most important lesson was that with persistence and patience I could achieve the result I was after). I begin each work as her master, wrestling with subject, composition and meaning only to discover that I am her slave and she dictates her will to me (if I'm properly receptive!). After more than 20 years of painting I look back through the works that define who I am, and who I was ... and I can honestly say that I'm happy here.
