I am a professional metal artist. A modern blacksmith. I makes sculptures of iron/steel. Powerful animals and fantasy-creatures are a major theme in my work. Locomotion like flying and travelling are also very common in my sculptures. Often I am inspired by the material (used metal), but most of the time it is my fantasy from which the sculptures arise.
In my smithy I shape the cold metal to warm sculptures. Back to the basics, iron and fire, hammer and anvil. Using ancient techniques combined with modern metalworking. It’s a great way to shape my ideas. Always driven and progressive I am working on my statues.
I do a lot of commissions for customers. My work is in private collections, galeries and sculpture parks in The Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France and the USA. I am always on the lookout for new opportunities to show and sell my work.
