Luis Quintero is a multi disciplined artist. Although Sculpture is the most representative part of his work, there are other disciplines that complete it, like painting, drawing, and photography. The central principia of his work is language, which he employs as the driving force and backbone in the majority of his pieces. He uses a wide range of materials: wood, terracotta, bronze, marble, ivory, steel. His meticulous and painstaking craftsmanship that uses as a support of some heartbreaking conceptual questions it raises.
The art of Quintero acts like a poetic detonator in the observers, driving them towards matters concerning the individual versus the collective. In his work “ ISO” we can read “What makes us equal is not what we are, but what we want to be” .
