I’ve always been fascinated by the work of artists like Barlowe, Giger, Beksinski, Whelan, Huss and Eggleton to name just a few. I love playing with my imagination and depicting images that talk to our inner world. With my own art this often leads to a kind of “Metaphorical Realism” that is quite dark although I’m not a dark person. Currently my greatest inspiration comes from science. Writers like Dawkins, Darwin, Gribbin, Sagan, Hawking, Pinker, Diamond, Dennett, Watson, and Wilson are heroes of mine in the same way visionary artists like Giger and barlowe are. Skepticism as a worldview is very important to me as is creativity and imagination. I’d love to combine my love of science with the imaginative and metaphorical world of art in a way that satisfies me. At the moment I’m still playing with how best to do this.
