Nom Kinnear King, from Norfolk (England), studied Fine art at Norwich School of art and design. Nom graduated in 2004 and has since been exhibiting her paintings and drawings In Europe and now Australia, most recently in the 696 Gallery, Melbourne. Her characters created in pencil, acrylic and oil, live within a mixing pot of magical fascinations of the imagination. Stories that lie behind the work are acted out by willing friends, collaged with collected imagery, painted then created in to books of each series. Other areas of artwork have been record covers posters, t-shirt design, and magazine illustration.
Her latest series is based on the world within a gypsy troop of tattered performers. Living life within the magic is beautiful, but you must keep moving as a dark shadow follows ever closer.
