I was born in 1944 near Vienna, Austria, where I spent my formative years. Initially, I was selftaught. I travelled around Europe in the mid sixties and lived in Sweden for a few years before emigrating to Canada in 1969. After working for the Canadian Pacific Railway, I entered University in Lethbridge, Alberta, graduating in 1982 with a BFA (great distinction). I still live in Lethbridge, now retired from the Railway and re-dedicating myself to my art. My greatest inspirations come from the Vienna School of Fantastic Realism, specifically the art of Ernst Fuchs and Rudolf Hausner, as well as my great admiration for Surrealists Max Ernst and Salvadore Dali and other Fantastic Realists, such as Abdul Mati Klarwein.
