I am practicing a kind of ancient story telling technique, intuition, patterns, forms, structures emerge from vortexs of anything. I pull myself into a things hum, into it's nature. Context is as important as placement and content. I draw considerable inspiration from plants, constellations and especially other animals. I ‘m trying to depict transitions the body endures during a creative experience, more specifically what the body goes thru during the act of creating, but in thruth we know inspiration can occur at any point in time anywhere so long long as we are open to it. Using hand made sculptural objects and charcoal drawings I create work that confronts a viewer with certain kinds of violence and promiscuity pitted against an unfailing will to love and protect visions. With the human genome as my template, it is my challenge to display visually various states of psychic empowerment. The question is not just how do we become more creative but rather how do we reconcile with the two opposing forces that arise from the same place, from within. Where do we draw lines of identity when god and the devil are one and the same? Doing what we feel is right is more then a moral issue, it is a matter of survival for truth itself...
