My paintings are fueled by strong feelings of both horror and fascination with the human condition. They are a series of vignettes played out in a backstage labyrinth; short character studies questioning the darker aspects of sanity and self. I use a combination of oil, acrylic, tempera, charcoal, and ink, using modifications and misunderstandings of traditional oil layering techniques. I usually paint with my fingers and incorporate additional textures of cat hair, dirt, dust, and coffee grounds.
