Things just seem to show up in my paintings, and that’s how it works for me. I’ll start with some image or object that inspires me and paint it in. I then let the painting tell me what the next step will be and so on. Over time, a narrative takes shape and on I go.
I think what hooked me to make art and to become an artist, is the freedom it affords. While this can be challenging at times, painting provides me with a place to access and express parts of myself that would not otherwise be apparent.
