Getting Started

Postby SonicChris » Fri May 29, 2009 2:21 am

Hey all,

I previously had no appreciation for art but now at 21 I have just discovered this interest in surreal art. My main interest is dark, disturbing psychological animation and film, but this is growing more as I have browsed this site and learned more about surreal art and viewed some of the intriguing and surreal works of the forum users.

I am just looking for some general advice you may be willing to offer on aspects of creating surreal art such as getting started, how you got started, software you guys use and anything else you think may be useful for me.

I would also like to know what you guys get out of creating your art? I have the intention of thinking beyond reality and in a sense insanity. Is this possible? Or just a classic newb cliche?

Thanks in advance,
Chris.

P.S (Sorry if this post is in the wrong thread).
