HI! new poster and some of my work.

Postby Liska » Fri Dec 01, 2006 4:17 am

Hey guys and girls, just thought I would drop in and say Hi. Show some of my work as well.

The work that is on these boards is really well done. I hope I can contribute as well as the rest of you.

Below are a couple pieces I have currently done using sculpey. I use this material mainly because it's the easiest for me to attain. The works were inspired by a drawing I did, which can also be seen below.

The full 3D sculpture i call "Liquid Lunch". This was taken before it was baked. I think i will be painting it all black, with a high gloss so that the glass really stands out. I'm open to suggestions for painting it though. But I think I want to go for that High rolling glossy look for that piece.

The second is entitled "Frustration" and is a bas relief built up off a canvas. I didn't paint it, because instead I burned the clay to create a sort of marbling effect throught the sculpture.

The drawing i did in photoshop when I was in university. I call it "Watch Your Tongue"

I intend on using this style quite a bit in the next month or so. Hopefully I will have more to post soon.

Thanks for the positive responses guys.

This is where Im at so far on my next work.

Image

Obviously still a long ways to go...

The wire work is in place, and the mirrors are firmly set. Now I just have to add the hand sculpting, mouth eyes and such. I do have some taxadermy eyes that I might use on this one.

You get some interesting effects with the way the mirrors are placed as you look around the sculpture. When I'm done I will post alot more images. Possibly a 360 video view as well.

this pic gives you an idea of some of the interesting things happening in the mirrors... if you look at the mirror in the center of this picture, it is actually reflecting 1 or two other mirros as well. The mirror on the bottom right is also reflecting the ceiling, which makes the sculpture feel like it has more negative space then it does.

Again any feedback at all is welcomed, be it positive or negative.

Thanks,
Sean
