Our aim as Angel Circus Collective is to support the local creative community and provide a promotional platform for artists of all media (musicians, visual artists, performers, fashion designers, poets and short film makers). We are a non-profit collective. All funds are channelled back into the collective to keep our projects ongoing in a state of constant growth. Our aim is to bring creative scenes together, forming unlikely collaborations. Our extended community of artists share opportunites and co-create. We are run by artists for artists.
Our mutual aim is to create and maintain a democratic promotion vehicle for a large network of obscure artists, creative misfits who are too-often overlooked by the mainstream machine. Each event is unique and unpredictable, with a diversity of music, ranging from folk, blues, jazz and psychedelic rock to ritualistic pagan rites and spontaneous bursts of insanity. We have held many events featuring live musical acts, performances, short films and group exhibitions.
Our focus is on creativity and imagination. Although politics, Environmental Conservation and spirituality tend to surface in many creative projects, we try to keep the serious issues from dominating Angel Circus, freeing the stage for uninhibited explosions of creativity.
Over the last 3 years Angel Circus has held regular events all over Melbourne. Visit the Angel Circus Myspace for more info and photos
