Roq La Rue Gallery has been an integral part of the Lowbrow/Pop Surrealism art movement since opening in 1998, and continue to exhibit established artists in the genre as well as fostering emerging artists, many of whom have gone on to make strong impacts in the Pop Surrealism and Contemporary art scene.

The Tattooed Portraits Series is documentation of artists that are tattooed, tattoo artists, their tools and materials. The focus for this show is Los Angeles Tattoo Artists, with paintings and watercolors of many of LA's most beloved and storied tattoo artists working today.

Renowned for his eye for the dark and uncanny, Les Barany has brought together a group of both notorious and unfamiliar artists that will showcase their intricate and unique styles this summer at Fuse Gallery. Works will include drawing, painting, digital art, sculpture and jewelry.

“Goya saw the horrors of conflict being enacted around him on the streets where he lived. I saw the recent war in Iraq in the comfort of my own bedroom contained in a neat, recently dusted TV set. Killing and humanities' atrocities have become removed and sanitized in the 21st century. Even the bloody bombing of Guernika can be made into art that fits on to a nice coffee mug. While I sip my coffee and eat my meals I can watch incredibly terrible things happening around the world on the news, complete with computer graphics and commercial interruptions. "Kris Wlodarski's series "Modern Images of Saints" places the relationship between the individual and the body at its epicentre: by reflecting upon the dynamics connecting transgression and taboo, the artist attempts to describe the isolation of those people who have chosen a sort of modern approach to ascetism in a quest for coming to terms with their identity.
"Wlodarski's paintings indeed look at the tradition of the 'still life' and approach mutated and mutilated bodies to create a composition of flesh, metal and body marks.The saints - in the artist's understanding - are bruised, pierced and scarred. Ascetism becomes a journey pointing towards the viscera, a quest that sees isolation and suffering as two of its key elements: to know oneself means first and foremost to attempt at reinventing one's body." -Albert Hofer
