Tomasz Alen Kopera

“AU04” – Oil on canvas by Tomasz Alen Kopera. 60 x 50cm

Tomasz Alen Kopera (Poland) attended the University of Technology in Wrocław, where he gained a degree in construction engineering. His artistic talent came to light already in early childhood. Human nature and the mysteries of the Universe are his inspiration. His oil paintings are permeated with symbols that relate to the human psyche and man’s relationship with his world. Tomasz is celebrated for his acute attention to detail and mastery of colour. “In my work I try to reach to the subconscious. I want to keep the viewer’s attention for a longer moment. Make him want to reflect, contemplate.” In 2005, Tomasz moved to Northern Ireland where he lives now.

Sandra Yagi (USA) is a painter who lives and works in San Francisco, California. She is interested in the intersection between science and art and is inspired by themes of anatomy, genetic manipulation, evolution and medical oddities. She was raised in Denver, Colorado and from an early age she loved science (especially biology) and drawing. She worked in the corporate world, where she put in 27 years at major financial institutions. In 2008, she left the corporate life to became a full time artist. Her works have been shown internationally, and are in numerous private collections, including those of Axl Rose, Ben Stiller, Miley Cyrus, Chris Vroom (Co-Founder of Artspace), Paul Ruscha, and film director Lee Unkrich.

Matthew Levin

Sculpture by Matthew Levin for “Shadow”

Matthew Levin (USA) is a sculptor and concept artist. Through explorations of transformation, mutation, growth and evolution, his work attempts to illuminate the grace within the grotesque and challenge our notions of beauty’s relationship to love, empathy and compassion. It’s easy to love something pretty. But, we are capable of much more than that.

“Mr Levin’s portraiture is both quirky and mesmerizing. Each of his little sculptural sketches becomes a three-dimensional snapshot of the bizarre. Just as the eyes in a classical portrait are meant to “follow” you through the room, so will these disquieting Homunculi.” -Guillermo del Toro (Pan’s Labyrinth, Hellboy)

Karl Persson (AUSTRALIA) began his career as an artist after completing a Diploma of Visual Art in 2003. Perssons’ art can be seen as an exercise in exploring the hidden, yet fundamental elements of the human condition. Erotic themes, and motifs of death, fear, and anxiety often inform his subjects. He draws much of his influence from dreams and experimentation and paints what he considers to be honest projections of the subconscious mind, without bias towards what may been seen as beautiful.
Karl has exhibited in Australia, America, Germany, and Italy and has also been published in numerous books such as, Hunt and Gather and Metamorphosis as well as magazines such as Juxtapoz, Tattoo Fest, Inside Artzine, Virus and Fire Mass.
