Opening reception: Saturday Jan 11th 5 - 8pm.
This exhibition will run from Jan 12th - Jan 26th and will coincide with 'Antipodes 2025', our annual group exhibition celebrating Australian artists.
Using the anaglyph technique—combining red and cyan layers to obscure or reveal elements when viewed through corresponding lenses—this body of work explores the layers of human experience, contrasting the outer image we present with the rich, often concealed depths of our inner selves.
Each piece weaves themes of inner strength, quiet resilience, love, fears, connection, and curiosity, all touched with a nostalgic charm and playful whimsy.
Young's storytelling approach to art draws from a rich tapestry of personal experiences and observations. Whether inspired by the vibrant back streets of Shinjuku, the tranquil light of a suburban afternoon, or the emotional weight of living with chronic illness, her work transforms everyday moments into profound visual narratives.
An accomplished creative, Young's versatility spans children’s books, video game design, murals, and clothing lines. A Lifetime Copic Ambassador and celebrated member of the ‘Popculture Painters,’ she is a fixture at PAX Australia and is renowned for her live painting performances.
