I Scream, You Scream is a new collection of sculptures by QimmyShimmy. In this series, QimmyShimmy takes on the sweet comfort of ice cream as perhaps only she can.

Join our preview list for early access to the online catalogue.

This exhibition will run from January 30th - February 20th and will coincide with Beau White's Toe, You Scream, Jai Raphael's Abyss & David Lee Pereira's Hollow.

Unfortunately, due to rapidly rising covid cases in our community and staff shortages within our team at Beinart Gallery, we are cancelling the opening reception.

We are so sad to have to do this but we are confident this is the right thing to do under the circumstances.

We hope to have a closing reception to celebrate these exhibitions but will make more announcements in the coming weeks.

If any food can be said to embody comfort, it would be ice cream. Every day, in households, restaurants and diners the world over, millions seek comfort in the soft velvety sweetness of a good bowl of ice cream. For some, such comfort is an essential escape from the horrors and depredations of the real world. QimmyShimmy juxtaposes this comfort with confronting and uncanny images, reminding us that even amidst the sweetest of moments, dread and horror continue to lurk.

Lim Qi Xuan is a sculptor better known by the moniker QimmyShimmy (@qimmyshimmy). A designer by day and artist by night, she fuels her two passions with caffeine and big dreams. Her “creepy-cute” miniature sculptures fuse the two worlds of the real and the imagined, treading the fine lines between horror and beauty. Her aesthetic sensibilities are shaped by her love for fantasy stories, old curiosities, time travel and a yearning for make-believe.

QimmyShimmy's works have been showcased in cities around the world, such as New York, L.A., London, Rome and Tokyo. She is currently based in Singapore.
