Drawing from Pop Art and Surrealism traditions, Dan Lydersen (USA) creates oil paintings that meld historical references and contemporary culture, often with wit, imagination, and a satirical bite. Often critiquing social and political issues, the artist seeks to instigate a conversation as much as he tries to elicit shock and outrage.
Born in 1980 in Denver, Colorado, Lydersen currently lives and works in Sacramento, California. He received a BA in Art with an emphasis in Painting and Drawing from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2002. He then went on to earn a MFA in Painting at the San Francisco...
