David Hourigan
David Hourigan is a Melbourne-based miniaturist whose practice centres on the meticulous recreation of buildings and objects at small scale, drawing inspiration from the city in which he lives. Working with inventive, often unorthodox materials, he embraces the logistical challenges of miniature-making as a core part of his process. After creating miniatures throughout his life, Hourigan became a full-time artist in 2018, turning his focus toward architecturally significant yet vulnerable structures. His work seeks to preserve overlooked buildings by capturing them as detailed, three-dimensional records before they disappear.
