David Ramsden
David Ramsden’s pursuit of painting is focused on the passage of time, the psyche and art-making as a form of introspection. His works depict the human form symbolically, sometimes repeating or merging through abstract space or the urban environment. Another common symbol is dripping paint as a reference to the medium used, inspiration and emotion. He also uses imagery of nocturnal landscapes and ambiguous light sources. These hyperrealistic dream-like works are achieved with the detailed use of semi-transparent layers of oil paint.
