This new collection of works by Ellen Sheidlin explores the interaction between the artist and neural networks, and embodies the fusion of classical painting techniques with cutting-edge digital technologies. The show title "NOISE" is inspired by the neural network’s ‘diffusion model’ mechanism: First noise is inputted, and after learning, the model removes excess noise from all possible probabilities. Similarly, Ellen's artistic process involves cleansing her inner space from everything that interferes with the image, thus distilling and crystallising the results on the canvas, without any impurities

"NOISE" illustrates the internal dialogue of the artist, in which the paintings become a means of self-therapy, a visual testament to the exploration of her own feminine nature. Like in a digital kaleidoscope, the author examines countless reflections of her fantasies in the neural network. The feelings of the artist are embodied in her female subjects, with animals symbolising their hidden essence, transforming their fragility and vulnerability into a new unique inner-strength.

Ellen Sheidlin's new series challenges stereotypes of artistic creation and the interaction between technology and humans, inviting the viewer to join the dialogue about what art represents in the modern world.

"Initially, I stand before a blank canvas, much like a neural network, overloaded with information but lacking a clear purpose. This process of transitioning from a multitude of possibilities to a specific realisation is accompanied by an inner struggle. My first four pieces in this series represents my dialogue with the neural network — a battle between intuition and logic, between inner-universe, creation and the harsh reality of the technological era. They symbolise my duality: two hands striving to create, and two feet trying to ground me in a reality where abstract concepts often prove more challenging to grasp than basic emotions."

"As the scale of my artworks diminishes, the volume of their intrinsic 'noise' amplifies. These minute informational particles, embedded within the forms of the beings I've newly discovered, magnetically pull me in. In the space between my initial sketches and the artificial intelligence's output, I find a genuine connection and depth, which I then translate onto the final canvas. In the end, who is the true creator; the human, the machine, or their synergy?"

"My perception is blurred irrevocably. Now, form loses its previous outline, leaving behind only an echo of the original idea. Artificial intelligence is no longer just a tool for me: it becomes an extension of my consciousness, deeply intertwining with my inner world and expanding the horizons of perception. In subsequent works, covered with a layer of matte glass, the world seems to pass through a blurry prism, where every detail loses its clarity, leaving me face to face with the ephemeral essence of art."

Ellen Sheidlin is an artist at the forefront of a new generation of multimedia artists, working between painting and sculpture, as well as digital photo and video.
