I am attached to my family home, to memories of home, feelings of home and dreams of home. To me, Home is a living thing. She is alive and where things come to life. She keeps your secrets, protects your memories and welcomes you with open arms. She is family. In this way, “I am Home” is not just an announcement but also a self-introduction”.

Jessica explores this affinity for homeliness through her characters, depicted enjoying themselves in cosy environments, safe in the creature comforts of home. Their surroundings offer insights into their personalities: Cotton Candy (easily identified by her pink, polka-dotted hair) is more playful and outgoing , often framed by shopping bags and portable video games, whilst Estelle (spotted by her dip-dyed bob) is more reserved, a homebody surrounded by plushies and comfort items. Magical critters scatter across the pieces, brightening the days of the characters they interact with, further unifying the special, safe feeling of being home.

Jessica Ng is a self-taught artist who transitioned from a career in graphic and fashion design to becoming a full-time artist. Her work depicts scenes and imaginings of childhood, memories, and a sense of innocence, often tinged with loneliness and darker elements. Her nostalgic creations are inspired by Jessica’s memories of fairy tales, fantasy books, Western cartoons, Japanese anime and her own childhood experiences.
