Tim Molloy - Idyll
Tim Molloy's Idyll, his latest series of ink and watercolour paintings, is a sultry, occult sojourn into a stretch of his inner geography, drawing inspiration from (amongst other things) The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath, by H. P. Lovecraft, and the Aquaria paintings of visionary artist Gage Taylor.
Opening reception: Saturday, February 8, from 6pm – 9pm. Free entry. Tim Molloy will be in attendance.
This exhibition runs from February 9 to March 1, concurrently with the solo shows Gerard Geer's Metamorphosis and Adipocere's Only you exist.
This series is a hypnagogic parade of windows into the languid eternal summer of the Hundred Year Coast. Visiting dreamers consult with extradimensional entities in pursuit of esoteric knowledge: the greatest prize of all, a permanent escape from the jaws of reality, which threaten to snap shut at any moment.
Gutter wizards, cryptobotanists, sorcerers and their servitors, naked monsters and other residents...
