Zeke's Lunchbox

Zeke's Lunchbox is a pseudonym for Melbourne, Australia-based artist Julia Rich. Prismatic and surreal, Rich's work is a world unto itself, a flamboyant universe that radiates brightness and colour, overflowing with strange chimerical animals and otherworldly humanoids. Women are often the protagonists of her work, figures she champions as guardians of the imagination, supported in their quest by a lavish use of colour and a grand celebration of femininity. The artist draws heavily from all things kitsch and femme; within her world, you'll find odes to 1980s toys, cartoon characters and 1970s sci-fi, influences that invoke nostalgia and a sense of child-like wonder. Rich is best known for her tarot project, Zeke's Arcana, an 80-card project that took four years to complete, a process that she documented in real-time via her Youtube Channel.
