Marc Burckhardt

Marc Burckhardt is an American fine artist and illustrator known for blending historical symbolism with modern themes. Utilising oil and acrylics, he employs Old Masters techniques like a monochromatic underpainting and colour glazing on wood panels. Some of his works feature pressed metal facades, also known as rizas or oklads. His client list includes brands like Gucci, Porsche, and Amazon, as well as publications like TIME and the New York Times. In 2011, he created official portraits for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Ceremonies. His accolades include Gold & Silver Medals from the Society of Illustrators, a Cannes Lion, and a Grammy. A past President of the Illustration Conference (ICON) and chairman of the NY Society of Illustrators 47th Annual, Marc has also taught at the School of Visual Arts in NYC and Texas State University. He is a named Texas State Artist and a recipient of the Hamilton King Award.
