Brad Gray’s work is built through a layered process of glazing, sanding, spraying, scraping back, and rebuilding, with each painting carrying a rich history of steps both forward and back. His practice references the world we inhabit, but also a realm that is not entirely our own. Gray often explores the dualities of life and the contradictions within human nature, sometimes with a spiritual undercurrent. Wordplay and narrative elements frequently enter his work, highlighting both the absurdity and pathos of lived experience.
