Nom Kinnear King - Gilderfray

Gilderfray is an exhibition of new paintings by Nom Kinnear King, based on an annual festival held in Nom’s fictional world Fallowmoor.

Opening reception: Saturday, July 10th, 6pm - 9pm.

This exhibition will run from July 11th to August 1st and will coincide with Dark Art 2021.

Fallowmoor is a remote place deep in the countryside, away from prying eyes, where its dwellers can immerse themselves in their own games and traditions, unhindered by the outside world. It has its roots in the countryside of Norfolk, England, where Nom grew up and lives with her family; she takes much of her inspiration from the sea, woods and halls there.

Gilderfray, inspired by old English festivals like Beltane and Midsummer Solstice, is an annual festival held at Fallowmoor Manor, where Nom’s characters come together in celebration. The paintings for this show navigate the evening from the preparations of costume...
