The defining feature of Stefano Ronchi’s work is his meticulous attention to detail—dense, crowded microcosms built through a miniaturist approach. Every square inch of his paintings is carefully defined, often with the aid of a magnifying glass.
Ronchi dismembers urban contexts and reassembles them into dreamlike swarms of architecture, forms, and disrupted social relations—provocatively juxtaposed without apparent order. Childhood memories and paranoid nightmares collide on canvas and paper, rendered in graphite or colour and often shaped through pareidolia. The result is a constant duel between the freedom of the absurd and the arbitrariness of rules.
