Tanya Gomelskaya

Tanya Gomelskaya, born in St. Petersburg, Russia in 1988, emigrated to the United States at age five. Art became her refuge amidst the challenges of learning a new language and adjusting to a new culture. She earned a BFA from SUNY Purchase University but initially paused her artistic journey to work as a dental assistant. It wasn't until she moved to Jersey City, surrounded by a vibrant art community, that Tanya reignited her passion for painting.

Now based in Central Jersey, Tanya has exhibited her work nationwide. Her art is a deep exploration of the human condition, focusing on the fine details of skin and the raw emotions hidden beneath the surface. Her meticulous technique, often involving brushes cut down to just a few hairs, invites viewers to engage with her work both closely and introspectively.
