What Brought You Here?

If there’s one certainty in life, it’s that we are all going to die. Few other experiences unify us as human beings in the way that death does. But how are we supposed to deal with one of the most monumental moments of our(and our loved ones) lives when even saying the word can be so hard?

I believe every person has a right to a considered death and to have their wishes heard. The most likely way to have a “good death(which is a privilege to be acknowledged)” is to start by having open, honest conversations about it. It has become clear that western culture has developed to be disempowered about death, despite its universality. I have found many avenues to start and develop these conversations and it all starts with being open to listen and to speak. (words informed by and borrowed from Dina Smirnova, death doula)
