"A concept drawing for a moment in a story when two characters might be falling in love, observed by a drifting, benevolent ‘eye’. It’s an effective image – a personal favourite – but one that felt out of place at this point in the story, drawing too much focus away from the human figures. I tried a few different versions before simplifying the composition to a sky filled with more abstracted life-forms." - Shaun Tan
