"A key pair of drawings that formed an important conceptual axis for the story. Here the girl considers that the educational or religious practices of her Hometown might not be objectively ‘true’, but considers the value of possibly false beliefs, so long as they work. For me this is also an important comment on the practice of making art and writing fictional stories." - Shaun Tan
