Toddlerpillars: Custom Toy Art Show

Posted on

Toddlerpillars is a custom toy group show inspired by the multi-limbed babies in “Toddlerpillar Apocalypse”, a graphic novel by Christopher Ulrich & Tim Molloy. These strange characters evolved from Jon Beinart's insectoid doll sculptures from the early 2000s.

Join the Toddlerpillars preview list for early access to the online catalogue.

Opening reception: Saturday, October 28th, 6 - 9pm. Drinks will be provided by our friends at Better Beer and Malocchio.

This exhibition will run from October 29th - November 19th and will coincide with Scott Listfield’s show Unreal and Brian Vivieros' show, Dirty Deeds.

This group show is a curated collection of submitted works following a global call for artists to modify blank vinyl Toddlerpillar toys with sculpted and/or painted elements. We received so many incredible submissions that the successful entries have been divided into two huge group shows at two different venues, Beinart Gallery & Dollhouse Gallery.

The first show at Beinart Gallery has been curated by Jon Beinart and will feature both world-renowned and extraordinary emerging artists from all over the world, including Australia and will open Oct 28th, 6-9pm and run until Nov 19th.

The second show at Dollhouse Gallery has been curated by the team at This is Not a Toy Store and will exhibit stand-out locals from the custom toy community and beyond and will open Nov 3rd, 6-9pm and will run until Nov 25th.
