Gifts Of Our Sun is a new collection of paintings by Erik Sherman. The series explores the relationship between the Earth and Sun, as well as our continually evolving understanding of it. Interactions between the two celestial bodies are explained, illuminated by natural phenomena that they produce.
Opening reception: Saturday, March 30th, 6pm - 9pm. Drinks will be provided by our friends at Better Beer.

Over the course of history, our understanding of this cosmic duo has grown in both accuracy and intricacy. It is due to human curiosity and scientific study that the same natural wonders which would have been indistinguishable from magic a thousand years ago, are now understood inside and out. With this collection, Sherman hopes to evoke the same awe and curiosity that drives us to develop our understanding of the planet we call home and the sun that lights our skies.
Erik Sherman is an artist based in Melbourne, Australia. He received a Bachelor of Communication Design from RMIT in 2015, with a second in Botanical Science from the University of Melbourne in 2020.
