Jacqueline Butterworth - The Gatecrashers

The Gatecrashers is the latest collection of paintings by Jacqueline Butterworth. These paintings playfully subvert our urban encroachment on wild habitats, depicting fleeting moments where carefully arranged scenes have become overrun by various gatecrashing wildlife.

Opening reception: February 26th, 6 - 9pm.

This exhibition will run from February 27th - March 20th and will coincide with Alex Garant's The Ghosts Of Ourselves, Jennifer Allnutt's Semper Augustus & Erik Sherman's The Rare Earth Hypothesis.

The Gatecrashers is a continuation of previous bodies of work. Here peacocks, pelicans and peachy-faced corellas take centre stage, cavorting like courtesans from Old Master paintings or taking a pose from classical sculpture, becoming not so much gatecrashers as the life of the party.
