Xhanthi’s A Secret Garden is a collection of new sculptures celebrating curiosity and the joy of uncovering something new.

Opening reception: Saturday September 27th 5 - 8 pm. Drinks will be provided by our friends at Stomping Ground Brewing Co., Fin Wines and Cré Wines.

This exhibition will run from Sept 28th - Oct 19th 2025, and will coincide with Shannon Taylor's Storyteller, Kim Slate's Synchronicity and Lix North's Aves ex Machina.

For Xhanthi, the phrase "A Secret Garden" refers not to a literal place or the beloved book, but the idea of something concealed, mysterious, and precious. An oasis, a liminal space that is both temporal and ethereal, some strange, transitory realm where nature and human intention combine. For the artist, a secret garden is a place that nurtures enchantment, magic, and transformation -- key themes she hopes to convey in this body of work.

This collection reflects the experience of finding one's own secret garden, the thrill and novelty of discovering something new. It's an ode to curiosity, the possibilities that bloom when one crosses a boundary, perhaps past an ornate gate, and dares to venture deeper into the unknown. In this way, the pieces are an invitation to mystery, encouraging the viewer to ‘peer through the looking glass’ in the hopes of discovering something new. Ultimately, Xhanthi is celebrating the act of discovery, the feeling that you’ve stumbled upon something hidden, something magical, and you might be the first one to have found it.

Xhanthi is a mixed-media artist from Australia, living and working in the US, known for her pop-surrealist sculptures and art toys. Her work reflects her own experiences of bi-racial duality and otherness, exploring themes of nature, pop culture, and identity. She takes pride in her mixed-media approach, designing her pieces in both clay and 3D software. The final work becomes a blend of hand-sculpted clay elements, 3D printing, and resin castings, all meticulously painted by hand.
